Aims and Objectives
1 ] To consolidate the language skills already acquired.
2 ] To promote the ability of the students to comprehend Marathi texts of a moderately advanced nature.
3 ] To train the students to interpret and evaluate poetical texts.
4 ] To acquaint the students with the basic concepts and ideas about the different forms of poetry.
5 ] To acquaint the students with the development, characteristics and kinds of poetry.
6 ] To acquaint students with the main socio-political trends and the historical development of literature in Marathi from the 12th century till date.
7 ] To acquaint students with the representative works of poets, dramatists and novelists in Marathi literature.
8 ] To train students to interpret, to appreciate and to critically evaluate literary texts in the context of the intellectual and social background.
